Third in a series on Hebrews 8:10-12
“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more” (Hebrews 8:12).
In this verse, the writer hits at the core of the benefits of the New Covenant: those who learn to know God and come to Him have the promise of complete forgiveness.
Because of the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we have this opportunity for forgiveness. Under the Old Covenant, the blood of bulls and goats couldn’t take away sin: it took the blood of the perfect Lamb of God to do that.
Today we live under this New Covenant with all of its wonderful blessings. The opportunity for forgiveness is ours for the taking if we are willing to follow its instruction.
